Engineering Lead (m/w/d)

Your mission

As the Engineering Lead for our newly formed accounting solutions team, you will play a crucial role in developing advanced solutions for tax advisors of e-commerce sellers. You will collaborate closely with the Product Manager and Product Designer to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality products that meet market needs. Your primary focus will be on leading the technical development of solutions, fostering a culture of innovation, and ensuring robust, scalable, and secure implementations in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Your ability to understand the broader context is crucial: who our clients are and what their businesses entail. What are our business, operational, and technological limitations? What are our financial, operational, and product metrics? Your work is considered successful not by merely delivering features but by ensuring these features solve underlying problems.

We work in the AWS ecosystem, wiring our SaaS solution out of services such as RDS (Aurora), API Gateway + Lambda, Cognito, S3, SNS/SQS, CDK+CloudFormation, and many others. We favour speed over perfection, experimentation over adherence to the status quo, and decomposing over bundling. You’re comfortable with our approach of Continuous Deployment, which involves performing up to dozens of releases daily.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the technical aspects of the accounting solutions team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to developers.
Collaborate with the Product Manager to understand customer problems and design technical solutions that align with business goals.
Oversee the design, implementation, testing, maintenance, and monitoring of solutions, ensuring high standards of quality, scalability, and security.
Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure adherence to best practices.
Assist in prototyping new features and facilitate experimentation, such as A/B testing.
Ensure the team follows agile methodologies, facilitating frequent and high-quality releases.
Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient and reliable deployments.
Develop a deep understanding of our internal business processes and constraints to inform technical decisions.
Analyze and address technical issues post-launch to ensure product stability and performance.

Your profile

Must Haves

At least 7 years of experience as a software developer specializing in Backend, DevOps, or Front-end development.
Strong knowledge of RDBMS solutions.
Proficiency in on of PHP, Golang, or JavaScript.
Expertise in REST APIs.
Strong knowledge of AWS and cloud computing services.
Strong understanding of CI/CD processes and tools.
Some experience in DevOps practices.
Minimum of 1 year in a leadership position.
Proficiency in agile methodologies and the software development lifecycle.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to design scalable, high-quality solutions.
Fluent in English.

Nice to Haves

Experience with continuous deployment practices.
Experience with end-to-end test automation.
Knowledge of Python.
Experience in e-commerce, fintech, or accounting.
B2B SaaS experience.
Ukrainian, Russian, or German language skills.
